さて、子供の考えていることを引き出す、One on one meeting,続きです。

私: What is your biggest dream? What do you want to make it happen?
（一番大きい夢って何？　何を叶えたいの？）

息子: I want to be a doctor.
（お医者さんになりたい。）

私: It’s a very nice dream. How can I support you to make it happen?
（いい夢だね。　それを叶えるために、ママはどうやってサポートしたらいい？）

息子: What do people do to become doctors?
（お医者さんって何をしたらなれるの？）

私: Well, they go to medical school. You need to enter medical school.
（えーっと、医学部に行くよね。医学部に入らないといけないんだ。

息子: OK. Can I go now?　（わかった。今行ける？）

私: Not now, after high school. You need to work hard to enter medical school.
Can you do that?
（今じゃないよ、高校を卒業してからだよ。　医学部に入るなら、すごく頑張らなきゃいけないよ。　できる？）

息子： Yeah, I think so. 　（うん、できると思う。）

私：Great! Oh, my question was, how can I support you? What can I do to make you happy?
（いいね！　あ、ママの質問はね、どうやったらあなたをサポートできる？　私が何をしたら、あなたは幸せになれる？）

ここで私、間違えました。　1日１つの質問がよかったです。

どうやったら夢をサポートできるか、と、ママが何をしたらあなたは幸せに感じる？は、別かな、と思いました。

息子：I’m happy when you play with me.　（ママが一緒に遊んでくれるとハッピーだよ。）

私：OK.　What do you want to play with me? （わかった。一緒に何で遊びたいの？）

息子：Gunpla or Lego. 　（ガンプラかレゴ。）

私：I got it.　（わかったよ。）

息子：Also, I’m happy when I have a looooot of free time!
（それと、たーーーーくさん自由な時間があったら嬉しい！）

私：I see, I understand, but you know what, if you want to become a doctor, what do you need to do?
（そっか、わかるよ。　でもさ、もしお医者さんになりたいんだったら、何をしなきゃいけなかった？

息子：…Working hard. 　（。。頑張ること。）

私：Right! Of course you need some free time. Sometimes, having a loooooot of free time is nice, but when you need to work, you need to be focused on it.
(そうだよ。　もちろん、自由な時間は必要だけど、
時々、たーーーーくさんの自由時間があったらいいけど、頑張らなきゃいけない時は、フォーカスしないといけないよ。）

息子：OK.　　I can do that.（わかった。できると思う。）

私：What will you do to work hard to make your biggest dream come true?
（一番大きな夢を叶えるために、何を頑張ったらいいかな？）

息子：I don’t know. I need to do what I need to do?
（わからない。　僕がしなきゃいけないこと？）

私：Yeah, the most important thing is… setting a goal. You have the goal, and you know how many years to get there, and when you think about how long it takes, you plan what you need to do… then you figure out what you need to do now.
